The TOP Halal Award 2024 by IHATEC Marketing Research is held to appreciate brands that achieve the highest halal image based on the Top Halal Index survey. The TOP Halal Award aims to recognize brands among Indonesian consumers. This award is not judged by us but is based on the results of the Top Halal Index survey, said Evrin Lutfika S.Tp, M.TPn, Director of IHATEC Marketing Research, at Hotel JS Luwansa, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (16/10/2024). This year's theme is "Building Halal Brand to Capture Global Market." Thousands of brands competed for the TOP Halal title, but only 52 Indonesian products received the TOP Halal Award 2024, he added. For this year's assessment, IHATEC conducted the Top Halal Index survey in six major cities in Indonesia: Jakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, Medan, Makassar, and Balikpapan, involving 1,700 respondents, mostly millennials, with 87% being Muslim and 13% non-Muslim. The survey took place from June to July 2024 using face-to-face interviews. Consumers were asked directly about halal brands in each product category without any answer options, focusing on the halal brands that first came to their minds. Additionally, the survey explored the behavior and perceptions of Indonesian millennials regarding halal products, halal brand awareness, last usage of halal brands, future intentions for halal brands, the Top Halal Index, brand switching analysis, conversion rate analysis, and more.
