Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan stated that ahead of Iduladha, basic necessities (bapok), including meat, are widely available. In addition, the price of bapok is also observed to be stable. This was conveyed by Minister Zulkifli Hasan while monitoring the Tagog Padalarang Market in West Bandung Regency, West Java, today, Saturday (1/6). Also present at this event was Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin. Accompanying Minister Zulkifli Hasan were Acting Secretary General Suhanto and Director General of Domestic Trade Isy Karim. "Ahead of Iduladha, meat and other basic necessities are widely available. Prices are also under control," said Minister Zulkifli Hasan. In general, the prices of basic necessities at the Tagog Padalarang Market compared to a week ago tend to be stable. Monitoring results show that the price of curly red chili is Rp40,000/kg, large red chili is Rp45,000/kg, red chili pepper is Rp55,000/kg, shallots are Rp40,000/kg, and red onions are Rp40,000/kg. In addition, medium rice is stable with prices ranging from Rp12,500/kg to Rp14,000/kg, SPHP rice is Rp12,500/kg, granulated sugar is Rp17,500/kg, bulk cooking oil is Rp15,000/liter, MINYAKITA is Rp16,000/liter, premium cooking oil is Rp17,500/liter (sovia brand), wheat flour is Rp13,000/kg, beef is Rp140,000/kg, chicken meat is Rp34,000/kg to Rp35,000/kg, and chicken eggs are Rp28,000/kg to Rp29,000/kg. "So, the prices here are good, very good, even below the average that we have set," said Minister Zulkifli Hasan. One of the traders at the Tagog Market, Faridil, also expressed the same sentiment. According to him, the current bapok prices are stable. "The standard bapok prices now are stable. The price of green curly chili is Rp20,000/kg, shallots are Rp40,000/kg, and garlic is Rp40,000/kg. There are still many buyers. The buyer is still plentiful, Alhamdulillah," he said. After monitoring the market, Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan distributed Stabilization of Supply and Price of Food (SPHP) rice at Tagog Padalarang Market. 200 packages of 5 kg rice were given for free to the surrounding community who were shopping at Tagog Padalarang Market. Tagog Padalarang Market has 4 floors. The first floor contains wet commodities and vegetables, the second floor contains groceries, and the third floor contains clothing. Tagog Padalarang Market operates from 01:00 to 16:00 WIB. Opening of the National Coordination Meeting of the HPN DPP On the same day, the Minister of Trade also opened the National Coordination Meeting of the Central Leadership Council of the Nahdliyin Entrepreneurs Association (HPN) in Bandung, West Java. In this event, Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan provided motivation for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) to take advantage of Indonesia's economic growth momentum by continuing to develop. "We are grateful that this year Indonesia's economic development is better than last year. This is a momentum for MSMEs to be better, more advanced, and further developed because this year is easier than last year," explained Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan. During 2023, Indonesia's economy grew by 5.05 percent. In addition, inflation was also maintained at around 2.61 percent. On the other hand, Indonesia's trade balance recorded a surplus of USD 36.91 billion and has experienced a trade surplus trend for 48 consecutive months, from May 2020 to April 2024. Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan encouraged MSMEs to continue to develop by increasing their capacity to face future economic challenges. "If we want to progress, we must change, we must be trained, accustomed. Through HPN, we learn, start practicing, so that in the next few years, entrepreneurial mentality will develop.
