The Meeting Between Prabowo And Minister Suhail Represents A Strategic Step In The Partnership Between Indonesia And The PEA

The President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, welcomed the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates, Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, at Kertanegara in South Jakarta on Thursday, January 30, 2025. This meeting represents a strategic step towards strengthening the partnership between Indonesia and the UAE.  

Following the meeting, Foreign Minister Sugiono stated that the discussions were aimed at following up on various cooperation agreements that have already been legally established between the two nations. Additionally, the meeting sought to ensure that the implementation of these collaborations proceeds in accordance with the agreed terms.  

"He came here to follow up on those agreements and to monitor the details of their progress," Sugiono remarked. The cooperation discussed, according to the Foreign Minister, encompasses several strategic sectors, including energy and housing, as well as other comprehensive areas.  

"There are many aspects involved, including energy and housing, among others," he added. Sugiono noted that Prabowo did not issue any specific instructions to his team. However, he emphasized the importance of executing all agreements effectively and finding prompt solutions to any challenges that may arise during implementation. 

"There is nothing specific, but he requested that we carry out all agreements to the best of our ability. Furthermore, if any issues arise, we should seek resolutions as quickly as possible," he stated. 

Accompanying Prabowo during the meeting were Deputy Minister of Housing and Settlements Fahri Hamzah, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Hashim Djojohadikusumo. Meanwhile, the UAE delegation present with Minister Suhail included the UAE Ambassador to Indonesia, Abdulla Salem AlDhaheri.
