PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) held the BCA School Achievement Exhibition and Appreciation Day at Pendopo Sabha Swagata, Banyuwangi, on January 23-24, 2025. This event marked the culmination of BCA's support for five BCA Bakti Schools in Banyuwangi, which has been ongoing since 2021. It highlights the success of these schools in building capacity, becoming self-reliant, and innovating to tackle future educational challenges. The five BCA Bakti Schools are SDN 1 Tamansari, SDN 4 Tamansari, SMPN 1 Licin, SMPN 2 Licin, and SMAN 3 Wongsorejo. The event was attended by BCA's Vice President of CSR, Krisbiakto C. Adi, Banyuwangi Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani, Head of the East Java Provincial Education Office Ahmad Jaenuri, Banyuwangi Education Office Head Suratno, and the respective school principals. "BCA believes that education is a crucial foundation for advancing the nation. Through the BCA Bakti School Program, we focus on enhancing teacher capacity, improving school governance, and introducing innovative teaching and learning processes. The innovations developed are expected to be a catalyst for positive change in the education community, benefiting not only the supported schools but also other schools in Banyuwangi," said Hera F. Haryn, EVP of Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility at BCA. From September 2024 to January 2025, BCA provided support to the Bakti Schools in two phases. The first phase included innovation workshops and coaching sessions, while the second phase involved preparing and executing the Achievement Exhibition. During this event, teachers showcased the innovative learning processes they designed during the support period. This activity aims to create a platform for teachers from the five BCA Bakti Schools to share best practices and inspire other educators in Banyuwangi. BCA held an Appreciation Day to honor partner schools for their commitment and achievements in running programs. They returned five schools to the Banyuwangi Education Office, hoping that the good practices established will continue and positively impact the local education community. Previously, BCA had already handed over schools in Lampung, Serang, and Gunung Kidul to their local education offices. In 2024, 17 BCA partner schools achieved scores above the national average. BCA also supports four new partner schools and eight sister schools at the elementary and high school levels in Bengkulu, East Kalimantan, East Nusa Tenggara, and Southwest Papua. BCA's partner schools are part of the company's educational initiatives. Since 1999, BCA has consistently provided scholarships and training to outstanding students in Indonesia, helping over 7,500 undergraduate students through the Bakti BCA Scholarship program. Hera F. Haryn, EVP of Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility at BCA, expressed hope that the BCA partner schools in Banyuwangi will maintain their spirit of innovation and quality. She believes these schools will set an example for the surrounding education environment and contribute significantly to educational progress in Banyuwangi. Hera emphasized that real actions in education can lead to sustainable change and encouraged everyone to support better education for future generations.
