Minister Of Finance Prepares Transition To Prabowo-Gibran Government

"President Jokowi has asked Finance Minister Sri Mulyani to communicate with President-elect Prabowo Subianto on the transition stage to the next government. 

Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati has ensured that the government under the leadership of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will prepare the state budget (APBN) for the next government under the leadership of President-elect Prabowo Subianto. 

She explained that drafting the state budget for the newly elected government is a ""tradition"" that is usually carried out during the government transition period. This is carried out in accordance with the provisions for the formulation of the state budget as stipulated in Law No. 17/2003 on State Finance. 

""In this transition period, where Indonesia is very unique, where the government will end in October 2024, and at the same time the new government will start,"" she said while speaking at the 2024 Fitch on Indonesia discussion, held in Jakarta, on Wednesday (15/5/2024). 

""But the budget for the next government is being prepared by the current government,"" he continued. Therefore, to design a state budget posture that is in accordance with the direction of the future government's policies, Sri Mulyani said that coordination and consultation were carried out with Prabowo's parties. The design of the state budget will be carried out as an annual cycle that still involves the House of Representatives.
