The Ministry Of Health Of Indonesia And Rizhao Xinyi Hospital Collaborate On Cardiovascular Doctor Training

The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenkes RI) has established a partnership with Rizhao Xinyi Hospital through the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI) for Cardiovascular Doctor Training Collaboration. This collaboration was formed during the working visit of the Director General of Health Human Resources, Dr. Arianti Anaya, to China last week.

As part of this collaboration, over the next five years, the Ministry of Health will send a number of doctors, nurses, and cardiovascular technicians to Rizhao Xinyi Hospital for further studies.

This commitment aims to accelerate the improvement of the capacity and quality of medical and health personnel in handling heart diseases in Indonesia. This is in line with the increasing incidence of cardiovascular diseases in Indonesia from year to year, making it one of the diseases with the highest health financing burden.

During this visit to China, Kemenkes not only signed a cooperation agreement with Rizhao Xinyi Hospital. Kemenkes RI also signed cooperation agreements with several other hospitals in China, namely Zhongshan Hospital affiliated with Fudan University in Shanghai, Rizhao Hospital affiliated with Qingdao University/Rizhao Heart Hospital, and Peking Union Medical College Hospital.

It is hoped that through this collaboration, Kemenkes can establish a close friendship with Rizhao Heart Hospital, open up opportunities for Indonesian cardiovascular doctors and technicians to study at Rizhao Heart Hospital, and create competent cardiovascular medical professionals in Indonesia. This will ultimately improve the quality of medical services in the country.

The Letter of Intent for Collaboration in Cardiovascular Doctor Training, signed by Rizhao Hospital affiliated with Qingdao University/Rizhao Heart Hospital and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, is an achievement for both countries in deepening cooperation in the field of health, especially within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.

"We hope to take advantage of this opportunity to actively promote deep cooperation in the medical field between China and Indonesia, achieve mutual development, continuously improve the health and well-being of both countries' populations, and contribute wisdom and strength to the progress of global medical services and health, as well as regional development and well-being," said Dr. Arianti, the Director General.

Rizhao Hospital, affiliated with Qingdao University, also known as Rizhao Heart Hospital, is a designated hospital for the national health insurance network or a national referral hospital. This hospital is built according to international standards accredited by JCI and is a Class III A domestic standard.

This non-profit hospital serves as a center for medical technology cooperation between the 12th Clinical Medical College of Qingdao University and Zhongshan Hospital affiliated with Fudan University. Rizhao Heart Hospital provides comprehensive diagnosis and treatment services that integrate clinical research, education, and scientific activities.

Prof. Ge Junbo is the Director of the Cardiology Department at Zhongshan Hospital affiliated with Fudan University. He is also the Dean of Fudan University, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Vice Chairman of the Jiusan Society Central Committee, and the Chairman of the China Cardiovascular Health Alliance.
