Jakarta - Trip.com Group, a world-leading online travel service provider, has officially integrated Indonesia’s Whoosh high-speed train into its global booking platform through a strategic partnership with PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC). The collaboration marks the first time Southeast Asia’s fastest train is available for international tourists to book directly via Trip.com, allowing transactions in local currencies and native languages. This milestone not only modernizes the region’s transport landscape but positions Whoosh as a premier mobility option for the global traveler.
The integration represents Trip.com’s inaugural rail service partnership in Southeast Asia, underscoring the company’s commitment to Indonesia—a nation of over 270 million people and one of its key strategic markets. By embedding Whoosh into its comprehensive travel ecosystem, Trip.com enables users to plan end-to-end itineraries encompassing flights, hotels, high-speed rail, and attractions within a single, unified interface. This seamless connectivity aims to enhance the visitor experience while amplifying Indonesia’s visibility as a world-class tourism destination.
Krishna Arya, General Manager of Trip.com Indonesia, emphasized that the collaboration transforms a shared vision into tangible results. “With this launch, we are opening broader access to Indonesia’s natural beauty and cultural richness,” he stated. Citing that Whoosh has already served more than 400,000 international passengers throughout 2025, Arya expressed strong confidence that Trip.com’s global reach will significantly accelerate Whoosh’s user growth from international markets in 2026.

Ian Luo, Global Commercial Head of International Train Business at Trip.com Group, reinforced the company’s overarching mission: “Train Tickets for Everyone, Everywhere.” He explained that Trip.com is actively constructing a reliable rail service network across key markets in Europe and Asia. The partnership with Whoosh is the group’s first such venture in Southeast Asia, reflecting a dedicated effort to bring rail accessibility to users worldwide. “Together with KCIC, we aim to present Whoosh to the world, and the world to Whoosh,” Luo added.
Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi, President Director of KCIC, highlighted the strategic importance of expanding digital access to meet contemporary traveler expectations. “Through Trip.com, Whoosh is now accessible to tourists from every corner of the globe, enabling them to manage their transportation needs even before setting foot in Indonesia,” he said. Riyadi framed the initiative as more than a ticketing solution; it is about positioning Whoosh as a primary mobility choice for international visitors seeking efficiency and comfort.
The integration strategically positions Bandung as a primary gateway to West Java and beyond. With the Jakarta–Bandung journey now reduced to approximately 45 minutes, Whoosh has transformed access to iconic destinations such as Kawah Putih’s volcanic crater, Mount Tangkuban Parahu, the heritage-rich “Parijs van Java” district, Pasar Baru, and the coastal expanse of Pangandaran. These locations, once considered distant for short-stay travelers, are now readily accessible, encouraging deeper exploration of the province.
International demand for Whoosh has demonstrated robust growth between 2023 and 2025, with Malaysia emerging as the largest contributor at approximately 300,000 passengers. Singapore followed with over 80,000 passengers, China with around 60,000, and combined ridership from Japan and South Korea exceeding 50,000. This data underscores the train’s rising popularity among regional travelers and highlights the potential for further expansion through Trip.com’s global distribution network.
Beyond enhancing travel convenience, this collaboration reaffirms Trip.com’s long-term commitment to Indonesia’s tourism ecosystem by elevating modern infrastructure onto the international stage. For KCIC, the partnership solidifies Whoosh’s global profile while supporting the development of sustainable, integrated transport solutions. As both entities move forward, the integration serves as a blueprint for how digital platforms and national infrastructure can converge to create borderless travel experiences
